South Florida
Improv Jam History
The South Florida Improv
Jam was created in August of 2002 by Alex Perdomo, Allan
Forbes and David Christopher of Just The Funny, as a
practice event for the inaugural
Miami Improv Festival (MIF 2003), and as a way to
bring together the improv community in South Florida.
After the success of The 1st Annual South Florida Improv
Jam, Just The Funny offered the hosting responsibilities
to the participating local improv groups, further unifying
and promoting South Florida's improv community.
Since its' inception, the
SFIJ has been hosted by
local improv groups, including Just
The Funny, Name Change
Pending, Impromedy,
Mod 27,
and this year once
again by
Just
The Funny. The event focuses on short form
improv, long form improv, extreme improv and sketch comedy
structures, and has raised thousands of dollars for local
and national charities.
